Bali, once is never enough!

We Took It slow in : Bali

Who doesn’t know Bali, the island of Gods? Most people knows Bali better than Indonesia, some even think Bali is a country. Well, Indonesia’s resort island of Bali has topped TripAdvisor’s best destination list for 2017 on its top! This is the best island we know to celebrate love, with family, friends, surely with your love one. Elizabeth Gilbert must be agree with that as seen in Eat, Pray, Love – 2010 American romantic comedy-drama film starring Julia Roberts

Abandoned plane(Refer to Bali maps, our highlight here is Ubud and below : Kuta, Sanur, Canggu, Nusa Dua, etc. Later after Exa get use to dive, I will take him to Amed then explore Ubud and above)

When. Literally like whenever! Indonesian people like to go 3D2N for short weekend escape or even just 2 days to enjoy beaches and nightlife. Any season works .The dry season (April – October) and wet season (October – April). But overall the temperature remains moderate as Bali enjoys a tropical climate. So, Bali is ideal place to be throughout the year.

Currency. Well, for the past years US$1 = Rp 13.000ish. Tons of money changer can be find, almost all stores accept debit and credit card. You can go for budget traveling or luxurious.

Transportation. The best way to explore the island either with car rent or motorbike. At the cheapest (Kuta based price), you can find Rp 40.000/day for motorbike, Rp 150.000/day for city car. We found that the price to rent a motorbike or car in Bali is the cheapest compare to other city in Indonesia (so far).

Fun fact!

  • Luwak coffee, world’s most expensive coffee comes from Bali.  Its not your typical coffee bean, they collect the beans from the digestion of a mongoose
  • Black sand beach from the volcano back then

Shopping. From local traditional market, you can go to Sukawati Market (yet lately people prefer to go to Krisna because the items sell in a fix price). Ubud Market quite offer similar things like what Sukawati market offers, but Ubud known best for its artsy things which it has different taste from Sukawati and although the price is higher you can bargain still.

Legian street

Take a walk in Legian street, Sanur street you can find various stores selling clothes, handy-crafts, souvenirs. Beach Walk is a modern mall located by the beach in Kuta where you can find branded fashion stores, cafe, and cinemas.

Before our 1 year, we had visited Bali twice and surely will go again and again later. Lucky us, our interest and madness completes each other. We went to Tanjung Benoa for water-sport : parasailing, wakeboard, and flying board (better to book it online than sudden order on the place), had half day spent in Waterbom to enjoyed the thrilling slides! While Feli took a dip on the beach, Exa enjoyed himself laying down under the palm-tree until he fell asleep. At least someone watch the bag, LOL!

We prefer to stay in villa than hotel, some included with private pool, kitchen, bath tube, wifi, parking lot, even cheaper than hotel and offer new ambiance for us. Enjoying local most popular pork mix rice and Hatten (Bali’s wine) while dipping, like literally why not!
